East Coast Trip Information Night

Every other year we invite WPCS students to participate in
an exciting opportunity to travel to Washington, DC and New
York City, NY to experience some of our country’s oldest historical monuments.

We will embark again on this adventure spring of 2019.

Please make every effort to attend an informational meeting
on Wednesday, May 2nd, at 5:30 PM in the MP Room of the Frontier Campus,
located at 6691 Silverthorne Circle.
Greg St. Jacques of PACE Travel will be here to tell you
about this amazing opportunity for your student and answer
any questions you may have.

Eastside's Cellphone Policy

Because we want our students focused on learning and not their phones, cellphones will be collected at the beginning of the day and returned at the end of the day. Teachers will secure the phones away from students in a safe place.

We need students to focus at school and the cellphones have become a huge distraction. As always, you can call the office and relay a message to your student and students are permitted to call home when needed from either the classroom or office phones. If students come in late, after collection, they will be expected to submit their cell phone to their teacher for safe keeping as other students have done.  If a student withholds their phone deliberately, discipline  related to 'not following rules' will be enacted. We appreciate your support of our new policy and understand our 'digital age' challenges. Thank you.

Eastside Dress Code

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students.  The governance committee met to review the dress code.   The dress code has been modified as follows:

We at WPCS believe that appropriate dress and grooming contribute to a productive learning environment. The purpose of the Dress Code is to prevent disruption of the learning environment and minimize the distraction of other students. It is also intended to protect the health and welfare of the student. The major responsibility for dress and grooming is placed upon the student and the student’s parents. Certain exceptions to the dress code may be accepted during official school spirit/dress up days. These exceptions are at the discretion of the classroom teacher and/or site administration.

In addition to the TRUSD dress code, WPCS students are required to dress for success, safety, and physical activity, which includes:

-Clean, neat, and well maintained clothing.

-Shorts must be at or less than 4” above the knee.

-Holes or shreds in jeans must be at or below the required shorts length (no higher than 4” above the knee).

-Undergarments must not be visible.

8th Grade Promotion Requirements

Requirements for Participation in the Promotion Ceremony

Students who do not meet the minimum requirements for participation will not be permitted on stage the evening of May 31st. However, they are welcomed to be in the audience during the ceremony provided they are in the company of a parent/guardian. Students may also be in the group picture which will be taken at 5:00 p.m. the night of promotion, and may take part in the reception following the ceremony.

The reasons for non-participation are noted below:

*The student did not achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 (C) with ability level taken into consideration.

*The student has an F in the last trimester.

*The student has not completed all 15 hours of Community Service.

*The student has not completed all Field Study Day Reports.
